The past week I was craving for some good oxtail since I have not had it in a long time. I recently discovered that the old place in downtown Miami Caribbean Delight was closed and reopen as Lorna's. The place looks about the same with some minor changes to the old place, and it is casual dining with simple decor. The dishes price range from $10-$14 with a lot of options for Jamaican, Bahamian and American food. I figure I am going to try their oxtail with cabbage and corn, and it was delicious. The meat of the oxtail is so tender that it just falls off the bone, and the flavor of the sauce is very rich and full of flavors. The portion was large, for I ate half and had leftover for dinner.

I found out later that the original location is in Miami Gardens, so I decide to venture out there. This location is much smaller and a hole in the wall, so you order it at the front counter and either eat there or take it to go. I ordered the brown stew fish and I am happy to report that it was super tasty, the yellowtail was fresh with a lot of spices, and the two sides of collard green and rice and peas were cooked to perfection. My friend, Sharon, she had the spicy curried goat with green beans and macaroni and cheese and she enjoyed it. They have dessert as well if you have a sweet tooth. I ate half of my dish and I was full, and leftover for the next meal.

I highly recommend Lorna's for home style authentic Jamaican, Bahamian, and southern American food. It's a no fuss restaurant with very reasonable prices and good food.
